Shovel Knight Pocket Dungeon is now available to all. It's not just Shovel Knight himself that has made this franchise what it is, but also all of the other Knights that you come across or were able to play as in the original game. In Shovel Knight Pocket Dungeon there are a total of thirteen playable characters with a variety of different unlock methods. Shovel Knight Pocket Dungeon Starting Character
Shovel Knight - HP 5
How to Unlock: Available from the start of the game
Special Ability: Fatal blows do extra damage to chains. Finds more potions.
Character Feat: Fatal Chainer - Destroy 20 enemies with Shovel Knight's extra chain damage in a single run.
Shovel Knight Pocket Dungeon Boss Battle Unlock Characters
Which Knight you encounter at the end of any of the boss fight levels is randomized. You might encounter King Knight three times in a row before seeing Plague Knight at all. In order to speed up unlocking all of the characters it's recommended to try the following steps:
- Use the Shortcut Cannon to teleport straight to the level, if you don't see the Knight you're after standing next to the level entrance then quit back to the campground and try again
- You can still unlock characters while using settings that disable feats like adding extra health and damage to your knight. You'll even still earn the achievement for unlocking the character
King Knight - HP 5
How to Unlock: Defeat the Scrap Knight boss fight in the Lich Yard
Special Ability: Press Action to Bash! Hits harder based on distance, but you'll take 1 more damage.
Character Feat: Royal Bash - Defeat a boss with a 5+ damage Bash as King Knight
Spectre Knight - HP 5
How to Unlock: Defeat the Spectre Knight boss fight in the Lich Yard
Special Ability: Slay enemies to recover 2 HP. Potions hurt to drink.
Character Feat: Starved - Finish a level without collecting a potion or turkey as Specter Knight
Plague Knight - HP 4
How to Unlock: Defeat the Plague Knight boss fight in the Lich Yard
Special Ability: Poison your foes with attacks and bombs! Reduced max HP
Character Feat: Poison Pill - Defeat 20 enemies with poison in one level as plague knight
Mole Knight - 5 hp
How to Unlock: Defeat the Thinker Knight boss fight in the Chromatic Cavern
Special Ability: Press Action to burrow and swap positions!
Character Feat: Dirty Work - Avoid damage 10 times using Mole Knight's burrow in a single run.
Treasure Knight - 5 HP
How to Unlock: Defeat the Treasure Knight boss fight in the Chromatic Cavern
Special Ability: Deals more damage when striking foes from below
Character Feat: Laden with Lucre - Hoard 50,000 Gems as Treasure Knight.
Tinker Knight - 3HP
How to Unlock: Defeat the Tinker Knight boss fight in the Chromatic Cavern
Special Ability: Gather metal, then press Action to build mech! Mech explodes when metal is depleted.
Character Feat: Technological Superiority - Construct your mech 10 times in one level as Tinker Knight
Polar Knight - 5HP
How to Unlock: Defeat the Polar Knight boss fight in the Flying Machine
Special Ability: Fatal blows freeze chains. Deal 1 more damage to frozen foes.
Character Feat: Ice Breaker - Slay 50 frozen enemies in one level as Polar Knight
Propeller Knight - HP 5
How to Unlock: Defeat the Propellor Knight boss fight in the Flying Machine
Special Ability: +1 attack for each lone foe defeated. Chains reset your attack and deal you 1 more damage.
Character Feat: Focus, then execute - Slay a boss in fewer than 5 strikes as Propeller Knight.
Scrap Knight - HP 5
How to Unlock: Defeat the Scrap Knight boss fight in the Flying Machine
Special Ability: Press Action to bag stuff and release it elsewhere! Items have more durability.
Character Feat: Bag 'em and Tag 'em - Destroy a chain of 10 enemies, 5 times in a single level, as Scrap Knight
Prism Knight - HP 5
How to Unlock: Defeat the Prism Knight boss fight in the Flying Machine
Special Ability: Press Action to swap or teleport! Swap nearby foes. Teleport a short distance.
Character Feat: Light Stepper - Finish a level taking fewer than 10 steps as Prism Knight.
Special Criteria Character Unlocks
Black Knight - HP 3
How to Unlock: Open the third Shrinemaster door by offering up 20,000 GP
Special Ability: Spend Gem Meter to enhance attack. Dimishes when you drink a potion. Reduced max HP.
Character Feat: Desperation Move - Boost to 8 base attack as Black Knight
Shield Knight - HP: 4
How to Unlock: Unlock the first Shrinemaster door by offering up 3 keys
Special Ability: Gain a barrier after chaining. Survive 1 fatal blow per level. Reduced max HP.
Character Feat: Well Defended - Lose 4 HP or fewer in a single level as Shield Knight.
