HITMAN 2 has recently announced Ghost Mode, a brand new 1v1 game mode introducing a competitive multiplayer game type for the first time in the series’ history. Ghost Mode is a competitive showcase of assassin skill and speed that tasks both players with eliminating random targets throughout the chosen level. Kills are in true HITMAN style since points are rewarded only to those who kill quickly and quietly before dealing with the evidence. Players can lose points by eliminating non-targets, so make sure to check first before asking bullet-sized questions later.
Each player starts a Ghost Mode match with the same starting parameters. Same equipment, same starting location, and same targets, but each player will have their own instance of the game. Where one player may trigger panic or distractions, this will not affect the opponent and may offer some interesting scenarios of using your opponent’s actions to your advantage.
To help you on your killing spree, Ghost Crates are positioned around the map, containing items, disguises, and weapons. Players need to rush to these Ghost Crates however since a rival can nab any crate item before you.
Players will also be able to play around with each other’s realities using Ghost Items. Items such as Ghost Coins can draw the attention of NPC’s in your reality, but they also affect the NPC’s in your opponent’s reality.
Ghost Mode will also include HITMAN 2‘s updated systems and a helpful announcer that keeps up with key events throughout the match. Ghost Mode will feature the Miami map initially. Like most other aspects of the game, that selection will expand shortly after launch with new updates and tweaks.
HITMAN 2 launches on November 13 on PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4. Owners of season 1 of HITMAN can enjoy remastered versions of that content at no additional charge. These new versions include HITMAN 2 features like picture-in-picture mode, improved combat AI and new gameplay items. You can grab season 1 over on Humble Monthly for a reduced price along with other fantastic titles.
