About Sarah Mathes

Sarah is a freelance entertainment and lifestyle writer. Although she technically got her start playing video games with the educational JumpStart series for kids, her interest in the field began to blossom with simulation games like The Sims and Zoo Tycoon. She played her first (aggressively pay-to-win) MMORPG, Shaiya, at the age of 16. Lucky for her, the game was small for an MMO and video game guides were largely relegated to Prima Games and forums at the time, giving her a great opportunity to experiment with guide writing.

With a Bachelor of Arts in English Language and Literature and Classics, Sarah’s writing has come a long way. She prides herself on writing guides and features that are comprehensive, digestible, and cut through the nonsense so readers can figure out what to spend their time, money, and skills on. She believes the best guides are insightful, informative, and entertaining, but ultimately enable players to spend more of their time doing what they love: gaming.

When she’s not writing, gaming, or trying to get the perfect screenshot (often racking up saves and character deaths in the process), you can probably find Sarah reading, cooking or baking, or dabbling in coding and web design.
