Chucklefish's anticipated strategy game Wargroove now has an official release date. and price point for players.

Wargroove was featured in the latest Nintendo Direct showcase, which showed off trailers and announcements for a slew of Nindies (Nintendo Indies). For Wargroove, it was a brand new cinematic trailer, showcasing the anime-styled generals in the game clashing on the battlefield.

After the trailer, the release date for the game was finally revealed, slated for February 1st. On their official blog, Chucklefish also announced that the game will be released not only on the Nintendo Switch but also the PC and Xbox One at a $19.99 price point. The game will also be available in 10 different languages, and players willing to pay for the Switch version can pre-download the game today.  The PlayStation 4 version of the game will be released at a later date.

"Everyone at Chucklefish is truly humbled by the support we’ve received throughout the development of Wargroove, and the encouragement to keep going until we were truly happy with the game," stated Chucklefish. "Wargroove is Chucklefish’s second in-house project and with the quality of its art, sound and technical achievements we’ve also seen our own progress as developers reflected in its outcome."
Wargroove is directly inspired by turn-based strategy games like Advance Wars, where players will command an army force across dozens of maps with the help of their champions, who can use their special 'groove' powers to gain a tactical advantage in the thick of the battle. Players will also be able to play online multiplayer, which includes co-op play and player v player. Other features in the game include access to a map and scenario editor for players to create their own campaigns.

To help promote the game leading up to its release, Chucklefish is inviting players to join their discord server to hang out with the dev team. They are also planning livestreams of the game in the run-up to the official launch. Stay tuned to TechRaptor for more on Wargroove going forward!
