The developers at Chucklefish have announced Wargroove 2 is currently in development. It's the sequel to the original turn-based combat game Wargroove.
The upcoming title will feature a new campaign, filled with story-rich content for veterans or complete newbies to enjoy. Several new commanders will be making their way to the battlefield as well, where a mysterious and unknown faction will join in on the fight. Commanders will also be more powerful in this game than in its predecessor, as they come with a tiered Groove system.
There will also be three different story arcs, which all lead to one interesting conclusion. This is a nice touch, as regardless of what arc you follow, you will always be led to the same place. The game features multiplayer options, such as co-op or online play that can hold up to four players per match. So whether you want to play with friends, or meet new players, there's a mode to get in on the action. Five new unit types have been implemented, meaning there will be more skills and tactics to master to ensure success. Players will be able to level up the ordinary units by collecting special items to keep them up to par with the new and improved units as well.
A new game mode has been thrown into the mix, titled Conquest, which has roguelike qualities for players of that genre to enjoy. More so, the editing options have also received an upgrade, which features more map, campaign, and cutscene editors than the original game as well. If ambiance is more your thing, Wargroove 2 will come with a brand-new soundtrack written by composer Dale North, who is known for being involved in games such as River City Girls 1 & 2 and RWBY Arrowfell.
While there is no set release date at this time, we know that Wargroove 2 will be released on platforms such as Nintendo Switch and PC whenever it makes its debut.
