Creative Assembly and Sega have announced a Total War: Warhammer III delay. Originally slated for release sometime this year, the game will now launch in 2022, but the devs have some good news to tide you over and allay the disappointment somewhat.

This Total War: Warhammer III delay was announced via the game's official Twitter account. In the tweet announcing the delay, Creative Assembly's chief product officer Rob Bartholomew acknowledges that it's "disappointing", but promises that the extra development time will make for a "stronger release". Creative Assembly says it'll be able to accomplish much more with the development of Total War: Warhammer III than it would if it had rushed the game to release before it was ready.
Despite this delay, Creative Assembly and Sega say they won't simply be resting on their laurels. Tomorrow, the devs will be unveiling the first look at Total War: Warhammer III's Grand Cathay faction. Unfortunately, Creative Assembly didn't reveal a new Total War: Warhammer III release date. The team simply said the game will now arrive in "early 2022", and didn't provide a more concrete window beyond that. This makes sense, though; given that the reason for the delay was to ensure the game will be as good as it can be, they likely don't want to commit to a new date and then have to miss it due to further delays.
Originally announced back in February this year, Total War: Warhammer III will be the concluding chapter in a trilogy that started with 2016's Total War: Warhammer. It will revolve around the Realm of Chaos and the attempts of the four Ruinous Powers to control and engulf that world. The Kislev and the Grand Cathay kingdoms seek to stop the malign influence of the Powers, but a mysterious figure schemes to push the world into a chaotic cataclysm. It'll be up to you to watch this story unfold and attempt to prevent total annihilation.
