Get your thinking cap on, because it's time for a jaunt to the Realms of Chaos. Total War: Warhammer III has been announced by Creative Assembly and Sega. The third game in the ongoing grand strategy fantasy crossover series is coming later this year.

What can we expect from Total War: Warhammer III?

As of yet, not too much is known about the third game in the Total War: Warhammer series. The game's official Steam page promises the chance to go up against the four Ruinous Powers of the Realm of Chaos. These powers are seeking to break free of their bonds and overwhelm the world, and it's up to you either to stop them or to align yourself with them in order to rain chaos upon the world. You can check out the trailer for Total War: Warhammer III right here:

The trailer doesn't show off any Total War: Warhammer III gameplay, instead revealing some of the forces involved in the game including the Ice Queen of Kislev and the four Ruinous Powers themselves. Both the kingdom of Kislev and the empire of Grand Cathay will have to make decisions regarding how to approach the Realm of Chaos; both must send their armies to the realm to battle the oncoming ruin, but each kingdom must battle its own problems as well.

Gameplay-wise, we're expecting to see a continuation of the grand strategy gameplay and large-scale battles that Total War: Warhammer is known for. It's likely to be a little while until we see any concrete gameplay footage, though. Stay tuned for more information about Total War: Warhammer III. As ever, as soon as we get more on this rather tantalizing game, we'll bring it to you.

Dark Souls changed my life, and I'm here to spread the good news. I like pretty much all sorts of games, but I judge everything by its proximity to our Lord and saviour, Dark Souls.
