Bandai Namco has announced that a Tekken 8 demo is coming to consoles and PC very soon.
According to a post on the official Tekken X (formerly known as Twitter) account, the Tekken 8 demo will first hit PS5 on Thursday this week.
After that, it'll come to Xbox Series X|S and PC on December 21st, a full week after becoming available on PlayStation. Since the game isn't getting a last-gen release, PS4 and Xbox One owners are out of luck.
According to a followup X post, you'll be able to enjoy "the first chapter of the Tekken 8 story, The Dark Awakens, and a local versus fighting mode" in the demo.
The Dark Awakens serves as the continuation of the Mishima saga, which is one of gaming's longest-running stories.
Jin Kazama will once again star as the story's protagonist, which presumably means you'll largely get to play as him throughout the story mode.
It's not clear which fighters you'll get to play as in the Tekken 8 demo's versus mode, so you'll have to wait until Thursday (or next week if you're an Xbox or PC gamer) to see who's around.
Tekken 8 is, as you might expect, the eighth mainline game in the long-running Tekken fighting game franchise.
This newest instalment will feature returning favorite characters like Paul Phoenix, the wrestler King, and Hwoarang, as well as new characters like Azucena and Victor Chevalier.
The much-loved Tekken Ball mode will also make a return in this game, although it doesn't seem like you'll get to try it out as part of the demo, unfortunately.
Tekken 8 is set to launch for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S on January 26th.
Our very own Erren Van Duine got to preview the game and take a look at its story and Arcade Quest modes, and she was also lucky enough to sit down and chat with director Kohei Ikeda and producer Michael Murray about the game's narrative and gameplay approach.
