Bandai Namco has announced a new Tekken 8 fighter in the form of Sirius exorcist Claudio Serafino.

Our first look at Claudio actually came when he was featured in June's closed network test announcement trailer, but he's now been fully introduced via one of Tekken 8's characteristic fighter videos.

In the video, Claudio is introduced as the "Banisher of Demons", matching his background as the leader of the Archers of Sirius, an order of exorcists. Indeed, Claudio was actually once enlisted by Heihachi to exorcise Jin Kazama, who can transform into a devil.

Claudio is pretty suave and very cocky; the first glimpse we get of him in-game sees him slicking back his hair and claiming the fight is "going to be easy".

As the fight (which is against wrestling legend King) commences, we see Claudio using his flamboyant combat moves to get the upper hand on the slower and more purposeful King.

Claudio is seemingly also able to enchant his attacks with magic, which befits an exorcist of his standing.

Following his bout with King, Claudio is matched against the sinister Bryan Fury, but thanks to his magic enhancements, Fury stands no chance. It is Claudio's trailer, after all, so it wouldn't be much fun if he lost.

Claudio juggles Fury effortlessly using a string of punches and kicks, finishing combos with a magic blow that sends Fury flying across the arena.

Finally, we get to see Claudio's special, in which he draws back the invisible string of a magical bow in order to fire an arrow of light straight through Fury's torso. Of course, this is punctuated with Claudio bidding "arrivederci" to his foe.

Tekken 8 still doesn't have a release date, unfortunately, but it's due to arrive on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. A closed beta test is also beginning tomorrow, which hopefully means we won't have much longer to wait for the full release.
