Capcom has revealed that Street Fighter 6 sales have passed another major milestone, and the numbers for the franchise as a whole are looking pretty good as well.

In a press release, Capcom announced that Street Fighter 6 sales have passed the 3 million mark as of January 3rd.

Given that the game had sold around 2.47 million copies at last count, the 3 million figure shows that Street Fighter 6 is selling pretty steadily, which you'd expect from a major franchise entry.

In addition to revealing the new milestone for Street Fighter 6, Capcom also provided a summary of where the franchise as a whole is at right now when it comes to sales.

According to Capcom's latest numbers, the Street Fighter series has sold over 52 million units worldwide, which once again makes sense given how much cultural cachet the franchise has.

Capcom attributes Street Fighter 6's success to its critical acclaim (which incidentally includes our very own Robert Scarpinito), as well as the game's presence in the esports scene.

The studio also points to continuing content updates that have helped Street Fighter 6 remain relevant, including the latest, which added some fun new costumes for various characters back in December.

If you've missed out on Street Fighter 6, it is, believe it or not, the sixth mainline installment in the Street Fighter series (although this is a franchise that's well-known for its endless spinoffs and revisions).

The fighting game launched back in June last year, with favorites like Ryu, Dhalsim, Chun-Li, and Cammy returning to populate its roster.

As well as its core roster of 18 fighters, Street Fighter 6 will also expand its character selection with a variety of DLC characters.

Two DLC fighters, Rashid and A.K.I., have already been released, and two more, Ed and Akuma, are scheduled to be released as part of Street Fighter 6's first DLC wave.

You can grab Street Fighter 6 right now on PC, PlayStation consoles, and Xbox Series X|S.
