Update [12/08/2022 at 3:00 p.m.]: Leaks showing the release date for Street Fighter 6 are confirmed to be true, dropping on June 2, 2023. The current listings show a Standard Edition for $59.99 and Deluxe Edition for $84.99. The Deluxe Edition will contain cosmetics, in-game currency and a Year 1 Character Pass. The Ultimate Edition doesn't appear to have a listing yet, however this should be up at some point in the future. We can expect to learn more about this bundle ahead of the game's Summer 2023 release date on June 2.
Original Story [12/07/2022 at 10:00 p.m]: The lineup for 2023 is already looking heated, and Street Fighter 6 is coming out swinging with a purportedly leaked release date. If the leak is true, we should have our hands on this highly anticipated fighter in Summer.
Resetera user Neoxon posted a screenshot of the PSN store earlier today, which shows the release date for Street Fighter 6. If this screenshot is indeed real, Street Fighter 6 is slated to release on June 2, 2023. Twitter user @bestbrosplay3 adds to the credibility of this claim after a video on Twitter of the page.
As you can see, there will be three editions available for pre-order ahead of launch for both PS4 and PS5: the Standard Edition, Deluxe Edition, and Ultimate Edition. The latter two feature Year 1 character passes and every edition will include character outfit colors to personalize your fighters.
We checked for the image ourselves and were not able to find it on either the PlayStation webstore or on the console shop, so it appears as though Sony took down the listing. We can expect to see some more details soon, however, with The Game Awards tomorrow night, an event perfect for this announcement ahead of the second Closed Beta for Street Figher 6 launching later next week.
Street Fighter 6 is the next entry in the longtime fighting series by Capcom, featuring new characters, modes, and control schemes. Notably, this is the first entry in the series to use the RE Engine, which Capcom uses to develop its titles nowadays. If you're interested in hearing our thoughts from the first session of Street Fighter 6's Closed Beta, check out our coverage. In an odd series of events, intrepid modders managed to finangle their way into playing the Closed Beta after the period ended, resulting in Capcom essentially erasing the game from your PC.
Either way, be sure to get excited, since we're very likely to get our hands on the full release of Street Fighter 6 on June 2, 2023.
