Street Fighter 6 has hit a million players in just three days on sale, developer and publisher Capcom has announced. The milestone also means that the series as a whole has sold more than 50 million units, so it looks like you don't need to be worried about Street Fighter's future.

This news comes via the official Japanese Street Fighter Twitter account, which revealed the milestone along with some celebratory artwork earlier today. In the tweet (which is in Japanese), Capcom confirms that Street Fighter 6 has reached a million players and announces the series' overall sales milestone as well. If you bought Street Fighter 6, you've directly contributed to that success. Hooray!

For comparison's sake, it took Street Fighter 5, which was mired in controversy at launch, around six weeks to sell 1.4 million copies, according to CapcomStreet Fighter 6's launch has been significantly smoother than that of its predecessor, and the strong reviews for the game haven't hurt either.

If Street Fighter 6 has somehow passed you by, it's the latest installment in the long-running and highly acclaimed Street Fighter franchise. The game launched on Friday alongside a fun companion website and some free in-game fashion goodies, and it's clearly proven popular with fans and newcomers alike.

The roster for Street Fighter 6 features new characters and returning favorites, and you can also create a custom character for use in the game's sprawling World Tour mode, which transposes the series' signature gameplay into an RPG framework. This is, of course, alongside the usual offline and online multiplayer modes, as well as a single-player arcade ladder you can take on to see each character's individual story.

Street Fighter 6 is available right now on PC, PlayStation consoles, and Xbox Series X|S. In his review of the game, TechRaptor's Robert Scarpinito praised its accessibility and depth, suggesting it has "the potential to dominate the fighting game community for years to come". If it does, you can bet we'll be right there to tell you all about it.
