Today, Dice posted an update on the upcoming DLC plans for Star Wars: Battlefront.

The game, which has already made an estimated $12 million in sales  for Electronic Arts according to several analysts, will be receiving free updates through March at least, along with four major expansion packs that will be released up until Early 2017.

The four major expansion packs will encompass the $50 season pass for Battlefront, according to the announcement, and will provide new maps and modes, heroes and weapons, among other content updates that Dice breaks down on the official Season Pass page. Dice named three out of their four packages, along with the timeframe for their subsequent releases.

  • Star Wars™ Battlefront™ Outer Rim (March 2016) - "Fight among the factories of Sullust and battle within Jabba the Hutt's palace on Tatooine"
  • Star Wars™ Battlefront™ Bespin (Summer 2016) - "It's hunt or be hunted in this action-packed experience set in the Cloud City of Bespin"
  • Star Wars™ Battlefront™ Death Star (Fall 2016) – "That’s no moon! One of the most iconic locations in the Star Wars universe makes its debut in Star Wars Battlefront."
  • Star Wars™ Battlefront™ Expansion Pack 4 – Title TBA (Early 2017) – "We will have more details to share about this exciting new expansion pack in the coming months."
In addition to these major packs, Battlefront will also receive numerous free updates and upgrades that will add more content to the game over time. According to Dice, free content that will be added tomorrow includes Hoth-themed outfits for Luke Skywaker and Han Solo, new game modes now eligible to the Tatooine Survival Map, the introduction to daily challenges and community events, and the ability to create private matches for players on both the PC and console releases.

February will receive several free updates, including a new survival mission on Hoth,  and making Turning Point mode, which Dice hints to be the most popular mode, to be available for any map that can support Walker Assault and Supremacy. March will follow suit by giving these modes to the Endor moon map.

Dice promises to "continue to listen to our community throughout the year and provide updates designed to make Star Wars: Battlefront even more fun for everyone."

Currently, EA is also developing a new Star Wars I.P that is being head by industry veterans Jade Raymond and Amy Henning, which is described as "Star Wars meets Uncharted."
