Star Wars Battlefront 2 released originally back in 2017, and since then received multiple expansions, including The Last Jedi and Han Solo seasons. Electronic Arts' sequel was on the receiving end of considerable controversy prior to release on the studio's microtransaction and downloadable content approach. However, things are different nowadays, and the update brings tons of content and changes to the game.
Star Wars Battlefront 2 upcoming update brings both BB-8 and its dark counterpart, BB-9E. Both of them come with unique passive abilities, star cards, and movement type suitable for their factions. The mobility and new style of gameplay these two new heroes bring to the title is definitely interesting.
Not only that, the most significant highlight is the Age of Rebellion season content. This brings back the Original Trilogy and the Age of Rebellion eras, accompanied by Luke, Leia, Darth Vader, and more iconic characters. It brings back the much-requested planet Scarif from Star Wars Battlefront. This season will be more geared towards ground-based combat as the developer notes, which can make for tense matchups indeed.
During development, we looked at the experiences that both Death Star II and Scarif would offer, deciding that the Age of Rebellion would be focused on ground-based combat, which is a better fit for some of the more iconic locations we have available. It’s hard to imagine leaving the Death Star to go to a capital ship, let alone having to deal with the shield that surrounds Scarif. But, don’t worry – it’s still the same great Supremacy experience, just focused on ground-based gameplay.
And, yes – you heard that right – we’re bringing Scarif back from 2015’s Star Wars Battlefront! This is one of the most highly requested planets and we’re incredibly excited to see it return to the battlefront.
Not only that, the update brings a lot of quality of life changes and improvements, alongside the new Era Select menu introduction. Let us know which one of BB-8 and BB-9E will you play first.
