A new Pokemon World Championships 2023 trailer has been unveiled, and it's a sight to behold.

The trailer shows off a stylized anime version of the competitive action that the Pokemon World Championships will offer. We see Pokemon like Pikachu, Gholdengo, Lugia, and Miraidon duking it out across the four games that will be featured at the Championships.

You can see four trainers making their way through the Championships, competing in events and bonding with their partner Pokemon.

The animation itself is gorgeous, and that's no surprise; animation duties for the trailer are handled by CoMix Wave Films, the studio behind anime classics like Your Name and Suzume. You can, and should, take a look at this sumptuous trailer right here.

As pointed out by Japan and Asia-centric news platform SoraNews24, the skyline depicted in the trailer isn't a creation of the animators, either.

It's a real recreation of the skyline of the Yokohama district of Minato Mirai, which is where the Pacifico Yokohama convention center can be found. It's here that the Pokemon World Championships will be held. Of course, the real championships won't be as beautifully-animated as the CoMix Wave trailer.

If you're unfamiliar with the Pokemon World Championships, they're a major competitive event that will see players competing across four different games.

The games featured are Pokemon GoPokemon TCGPokemon Unite, and Pokemon Scarlet and Violet (referred to as Pokemon VGC in the trailer's description). Sadly, there's no Pokemon Sleep representation this year.

This year's event will be held in Yokohama, representing the first time the World Championships have taken place in Japan.

The Championships will take place between August 11th and 13th, and even if you're not taking part in the main event, a series of fun side events will also be available if you're attending.

You can check out the official Pokemon World Championships 2023 website if you want to learn more about the competition. If all of this sweet, wholesome fun has made you thirst for blood, you might also want to check out the new Palworld trailer for a darker take on Game Freak's formula.
