Pokemon Sleep

Today The Pokemon Company announced that Pokemon Sleep is coming in late July.

The app/game, which was announced all the way back in 2019 and then re-revealed earlier this year, will encourage the user to get some good nights to sleep to collect a variety of Pokemon and different kinds of sleep.

If you have an Android device, you can already pre-register on Google Play, while iOS users will have to wait a little longer. The accompanying Pokemon Go+ device will also release in time for the game's launch, on July 14. Connecting the device to Pokemon GO will also earn you bonuses on Pokemon Sleep.

Today we also learn about the gameplay loop. After a night of sleep, your pattern will be categorized as Dozing, Snoozing, and Slumbering. You'll also be given a score and that will amplify a Snorlax's Drowsy Power. All sorts of Pokemon with sleep patterns matching yours will gather after Snorlax allowing you to record their sleep styles in your Sleep Style Dex.

Giving these Pokemon Poke Biscuits will also let you befriend them and they will join your team as helpers. These helpers will gather berries and ingredients that can be used to make food for Snorlax, which will in turn become stronger.

On Monday you'll move to another campsite and meet a new Snorlax, which you'll have to build up from scratch. You can also register users as friends and share your stats will them, if you really, really want the world to know how much you sleep.

You can check out a full overview of the gameplay below and see if you want to pre-register (or wait, if you're an iOS user).
