In a surprise bit of news, it's just been announced that Pokemon TCG and Pokemon Go are working together to release an expansion. It's uncreatively called Pokemon TCG Pokemon Go, and it looks like it's going to be a throwback expansion. Judging by the art on its card pack, players can expect to see old favorites Pokemon such as Mewtwo, Mew, Pikachu, and other nostalgic Pokemon in the expansion.

Pokemon TCG Pokemon Go will be releasing this summer, and players can expect to see 10 cards per pack. There's going to be a lot of cards, most likely, as expansions like Evolving Skies show that Pokemon TCG isn't afraid to release hundreds of cards into the wild at once. The expansion has apparently been in the works for "a very long time", and more will be shown in the coming months.

Pokemon as a whole has been on fire recently. With the releases of Pokemon Legends: Arceus, Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl, and Pokemon Unite, there's been a ton of video game content to play, let alone cool contests and things to do in Pokemon GO and Pokemon TCG. Pokemon TCG Pokemon Go will only give Pokemon fans more to do, and now Pokemon TCG fans will have something else to look forward to along with the Pokemon TCG Live Beta for desktop users, because in a post-COVID world sometimes it's better to catch 'em all online. After all, we're all inside playing through Arceus right now, so what's another Pokemon game to play, eh?
