The Pokemon Trading Card Game got it's first launch in 1996 as Pokemon's popularity was taking off around the world and it shows no sign of stopping. The Pokemon Trading Card Game allows players to purchase decks and booster packs and build up a deck of cards to take on other Pokemon Trainers.
While playing the Pokemon Trading Card Game your goal is to put out different Pokemon and power them up through evolution or with energy cards to bring them into battle. With each Pokemon knocked out players will get to take one of their prize cards with the victor of the match being the first person to collect their final prize card.
A large aspect of this game hasn't just been in the battling and competitive play at large events like the Pokemon World Championship but in the collection of rare cards. Frequently through the year we see new Pokemon cards reaching multiple hundreds of dollars in value due to their look and packs from the initial release sell for much much more.
The physical game has also spun-off its own video game adaptations and online service in Pokemon Trading Card Game Live.
