Pokemon Go has announced their latest update that will add a variety of new features including the ability to walk along Routes, the Blaze New Trails Event, and a new Special Research Story called From A to Zygarde.
Players will be able to have an increased chance of encountering certain Pokemon, and also be able to obtain Zygarde 10% for the first time in Pokemon Go.
Pokemon Go is Niantic's big hit, but from our hands-on with Monster Hunter Now it might have some competition going forward as a more active mobile exploration game.
Pokemon Go Routes Feature
With Routes in Pokemon Go players will be able to create their own Routes for others to walk in the game. Along these Routes, you'll not only be able to encounter certain Pokemon but you'll also be able to collect Zygarde Cells.
Those familiar with Pokemon Sun and Moon, which introduced Zygard Cells, know that these are individual pieces that make up the larger Zygarde Pokemon with its dog-like 10% Form, snake-like 50% Form, and humanoid 100% Form.
Routes can be started at a PokeStop or Gym where you can start a recording. After completing your Route you can fill in some info and submit it for review. Once it has been approved other Trainers will be able to follow your Route.
Pokemon Go Blaze New Trails Event
The Blaze New Trails Event will take place in Pokemon Go from Friday, July 21, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. to Monday, July 24, 2023, at 8:00 p.m. local time. You'll be able to encounter the following Pokemon in the wild:
- Growlithe
- Ponyta
- Doduo
- Lilipup
- Blitzle
- Yungoos (This pokemon will also have increased Shiny odds)
7 km Eggs will hatch Rockruff, Skwoven, and Falinks. Only the Rockruff has a Shiny Chance here. Completing Field Research will also allow you to encounter Yungoos with an increased chance of encountering a Shiny Yungoos.
