Who's your favorite little dragon Pokemon? If you answered Gen 5's Axew, then you're in luck in June, as the Pokemon Go June Community Day is all about the little critter. You can expect more Axew to appear during the event, and there are a bunch of other play bonuses up for grabs as well.
Previous Pokemon Go Community Day events have focused on 'mons like the spooky candle Litwick and the cute birb Starly, but June 2023's day wants to hear your best lil' baby dragon roar. Since Axew is number 610 in the National Pokedex, it makes perfect sense for this Pokemon to feature as the Community Day spotlight for 6/10. See what they did there?
Between 2pm and 5pm local time, you'll notice a marked increase in the number of Axew hanging around. You'll also get triple the XP for catching Pokemon, as well as twice the Candy and a doubled chance to get Candy XL from catching Pokemon (if you're level 31 or over, that is).
Other bonuses include a three-hour Lure Module duration and a "surprise" if you take some snapshots during Community Day. Perhaps an Axew will photobomb you! The Special Trade limit is being boosted from two to three for the duration of the event, too, and trades will take half the Stardust. Those last two bonuses will be active between 2pm and 10pm local time, whereas the others will stop at 5pm.
A four-star Fraxure raid will be happening between 5pm and 10pm local time as well. If you complete a Raid Battle against this Pokemon, you'll notice an increased amount of Axew around that gym for 30 minutes. Lastly, if you evolve Fraxure during this event, you'll get a Haxorus that knows the powerful Breaking Swipe move. To put it simply, this event is very much Axew's show, so if you like this dragon and its evolutions, you're in for a good time.
The Pokemon Go June Community Day kicks off on June 10th and runs between 2pm and 5pm, with some bonuses and raids running until 10pm.
