PLAYERUNKNOWN'S BATTLEGROUNDS has released the Early Access Month 3 Update and banned 25,000+ cheaters over the last few months according to a news post on the game's official Steam Community page.
Server performance of the game has been improved over the last several weekly patches. Development of PLAYERUNKNOWN'S BATTLEGROUNDS relies on metrics to indicate how the game is working for the players and how to possibly improve it. The team has been hard at work with BattlEye to combat cheats that exist for the game as well as new ones that are cropping up; over 25,000 cheaters have been banned from the game in the last three months.
One of the more major changes is that the game will be getting its "first real pass" at balancing the loot tables. The balance changes are being made in response to information gained by the developer's data science team. Part of the issues that will be resolved are items that unintentionally spawned too often or not often enough. The news post cautions that these changes are not final and this will not be the only major change to the loot system in the course of the game's development.
Two new weapons have been added to the game. The Groza is an AR chambered for 7.62 and can only be acquired in Care Packages, and the P18C is a 9mm pistol with a fully-automatic fire mode. As for changes to existing guns, the Vector and UMP now support burst fire. New firearms-related gun mechanics have been added as well; players can now interact with game world objects while they're reloading.
A lot of minor tweaks and changes have made their way into the game, so have a look at the full patch notes for all the nitty gritty. If you don't yet own PLAYERUNKNOWN'S BATTLEGROUNDS, you can pick up a copy for yourself over on Steam. Unfortunately, the game isn't part of this year's Steam Summer Sale, so you'll have to pony up $29.99 or your regional equivalent. To date, Playerunknown's Battlegrounds has sold over 4m units bringing in over 100m in revenue for developer Bluepoint.
