Palworld developer Pocketpair has taken to social media to outline its plans for combating cheaters in future updates.

In a post on X (formerly known as Twitter), Pocketpair confirms that some Palworld players have been unable to connect to official servers "due to cheating and the influence of fraudulent activities".

The studio says it's working on measures to deal with this problem "strictly and as a priority". The first part of this plan is the implementation of a player list function at the end of this month, which will "strengthen the identification of players who engage in cheating".

After the player list function is implemented, Pocketpair says it's going to introduce an "external anti-cheat solution" in order to take action against "particularly frequent fraudulent activities and cheating".

Pocketpair does stress, however, that in the case of community servers, as well as those playing in single-player and co-op, the use of the anti-cheat solution will be optional.

This is likely to mollify potential concerns about whether Palworld's anti-cheat software would cause issues for the game or its users, as has occasionally been the case for other games.

Pocketpair says that it will also continue to "take thorough measures" against cheating and fraudulent activities, although occasionally, the devs may miss a case due to being unable "to keep up".

If you've somehow missed out on Palworld, it's an open-world survival crafting game that blends the gameplay of titles like Ark: Survival Evolved with the creature-collecting aspect of Pokemon.

Since its release in Early Access last month, Palworld has proven phenomenally popular, passing 19 million players across Steam and Xbox and topping the Steam Deck charts for January.

Since Palworld's launch, a number of small updates have been released, fixing big and small gameplay issues alike. Pocketpair has also released a roadmap for the game that looks ahead to features like PvP gameplay, raid bosses, and crossplay.

You can grab Palworld right now on PC and Xbox. Be sure to take a look at our guides for the game if you want to know where to get started!
