MultiVersus Batman and other characters battle

If you've been enjoying MultiVersus and want to know what's coming next, we finally have the MultiVersus Season 1 patch notes that give us the Morty release date. There are free character rotations for the next couple weeks and other changes that should make players' lives a lot easier, too. You should also know that only the first part of the patch is launching today, with the second hopefully coming in the next few days. Let's get right into it, shall we?

What's included in the MultiVersus Season 1 patch notes?

To get things out of the way, Morty is coming very soon: August 23rd, in fact, and he will wield the all-purpose Plumbus as his weapon. Originally, he was supposed to be released today, but just over a week's delay isn't that big of a deal. As for the free character rotations from August 15th to 30th, players will be able to play Arya, Batman, LeBron, and Steven free of charge. So, if you want to play as the Caped Crusader, now's your chance.

Systems changes coming with this patch include free rotation characters now having an icon in character select to identify them. Battle Pass XP match rewards have also been increased to 10 for wins and 5 for losses, which is up from 5 for wins and 3 for losses. Battle Pass missions have been disabled for everyone but tanks due to players currently not having access to Wonder Woman, which is lame but also understandable, as the developers didn't come up with a "reliable enough method to work around those missions". The patch also includes a whole host of balance changes, so make sure to read the notes if you're a MultiVersus fanatic.

There's some more good news, too, as the requirements for a number of seasonal missions have been lowered:

  • Ringout a player from the top of the map 50 times (previously 75)
  • Ringout a player from the side of the map 50 times (previously 75)
  • Ringout a player from the bottom of the map 50 times (previously 75)
  • Get 50 assists (previously 125)

What MultiVersus characters are coming in future?

For those of you that have an eye on the future, there's good news: Black Adam and Stripe are apparently coming to MultiVersus. How do we know? Well, it got leaked by MultiVersus leaker InTheShade. Here's the image they uncovered.

Yep, this definitely looks like a legit MultiVersus leak. Credit goes to InTheShadeMV.

If you're out of the loop on who in the Sam Hill these two characters are, well we're both in the same boat. Black Adam is an antihero who's apparently one of the archenemies of Captain Marvel, so maybe in the future we'll see Brie Larson and The Rock beating the crap out of each other on the big screen.

As for Stripe, he's not part of a credit card. Instead, he's the main antagonist of Gremlins and a secondary antagonist in Gremlins 2. He's the leader of the first batch of Gremlins and looks like a miniature Green Goblin who indulges in flesh eating while also shredding some sick air guitar solos. I'm a sinner and haven't see either of the Gremlins movies, but it's on my to-do list. Maybe in between a few rounds of MultiVersus? Just make sure you're not modding it.
