Today the Twitter account of the Mortal Kombat franchise had an interesting tease to share with the fans of the popular fighting game series.

The tease, which you can see below, recites "it is almost time" likely indicating a reveal coming soon. On top of that, it shows a watch skipping from 11 to 1, which possibly indicates a reboot of the franchise, albeit this is just our interpretation.

We already know that the next Mortal Kombat game is in development, as it was peculiarly announced by Warner Bros. President and CEO David Zaslav during a recent financial conference call. At the moment, we don't know specifically when the game will be fully revealed, but you can expect a report here on TechRaptor as soon as it happens.

If you're unfamiliar with the Mortal Kombat franchise, it debuted all the way in 1992 originally at the arcades, when Netherrealm was still Midway Chicago studio. It was then ported to a veritable multitude of home consoles and even computers.

Times are mature for a new game as the latest, Mortal Kombat 11, was launched all the way back in 2019 to strong acclaim from fans and critics, and three years have passed since the Aftermath expansion in 2020.

Besides its video games, the franchise has spawned plenty of media content including films, animated series, and TV shows. The latest live-action film was released in 2021.
