Third-party developers shared news about upcoming Microsoft Flight Simulator add-ons, on top of a new airport release.

We start with Aerosoft, which revealed a new screenshot (which you can see above) and a progress update for its Airbus A330.

The developers have achieved two important milestones in correctly setting the performance of the engine (paving the way for the continuation of work on sound) and fixing the lateral tracking of the autopilot. The 3D model is almost finished and the developers are currently working on autopilot calculations.

The aircraft systems calculate the planned flight route, speed, altitude, vertical climb/descent, etc. based on various factors. We've come this far. Now we have to teach the autopilot to work with this data. But the best planning is useless if reality gets in the way. So this data must also be constantly recalculated in real time. We are currently working on this.

Moving on to another progress update from Drzewiecki Design, which showcased its work on King County International Airport (KBFI) also known as Boeing Field near Seattle, United States.

FS Formosa Project, a developer that focuses on Taiwan, just announced a new airport, Taitung Airport (RCFN), a smaller one on the southeastern coast of the country.

We also get more screenshots from Impulse Simulations, portraying Newcastle Airport (YWLM). As the ICAO code indicates, this isn't Newcastle Airport in the UK, but the one serving Newcastle in New South Wales, Australia.

Unfortunately, we learn that release won't be before the end of the year.

Lastly, Burning Blue Design released another of its small airports in the UK, Tatenhill Airfield (EGBM). It's currently available on Orbx Direct for $18.20, promising the following perks.

  • Over 130 custom 3D objects each with full Physical Based Rendering (PBR) textures
  • Based on up-to-date layout with accurate runways, recently paved taxiways, and custom taxi signs
  • Highly detailed control tower and cafe interiors
  • Completely custom animated windsock
  • Full night lighting and dynamic weather compatibility
  • Enhanced high-resolution color-corrected ground textures
  • Real-life static aircraft based at Tatenhill:
  • G-TALA Cessna 152 (Tatenhill Aviation)
  • G-TALO Cessna F152 (Tatenhill Aviation)
  • G-TALX Bellanca Decathlon (Tatenhill Aviation)
  • G-HWAA Eurocopter EC135 (Midlands Air Ambulance)
  • G-BMFP Piper PA28 Warrior II (Aerobility)
  • XX900 Blackburn Buccaneer

That's all for today's news. As usual, do keep in mind that we have daily updates about Microsoft Flight Simulator here on TechRaptor, to keep you posted on the vibrant add-on market.
