Microsoft Flight Simulator P-47D Thunderbolt Announced, F-86 Sabre Released

The P-47D Thunderbolt has been announced for Microsoft Flight Simulator, while Algiers Airport is coming soon. The F-86 Sabre has been released.

Microsoft Flight Simulator Sabre and Thunderbolt

Third-party developers shared a few reveals and releases of Microsoft Flight Simulator add-ons, including both aircraft and a relevant airport.

We start with Aeroplane Heave, which announced the P-47D Thunderbolt World War II fighter.

Being the D version, it's the one with the classic "Razorback" configuration, including the following features and 12 historical liveries.

  • All new hi-fidelity models with superb detail including gear wells and the brutal Pratt and Whitney engine
  • Beautifully crafted exterior and interior models built over contemporary detailed plans and drawings
  • Authentic cockpit detail includes many bespoke animations and effects.
  • Full PBR materials and textures include realistic "pillowing" of metal surfaces.
  • Animated authentic U.S. military pilot figure + your choice to remove for Asobo stock pilot
  • Choice of gunsights/GPS Clean stores or pylons
  • Highly accurate flight dynamics and performance based on real flight tests.
  • Specially authored WWise Hi-Fidelity sound package.
  • Unique code to "iron" out poor simulator tail-dragger performance.
  • Loadout choice and armaments (not on the official marketplace).

It's coming very soon for both PC and Xbox.

We also hear that NetDesign has completed Houari Boumediene Airport (DAAG) serving Algiers, the capital of Algeria. According to the developer, it will be released this coming week, and below you can check out a trailer and new screenshots, including a few relevant landmarks surrounding the airport.

 

Lastly, Blackbird Simulations' sub-brand Shrike, released the classic F-86 Sabre fighter, it can be purchased at the developer's own store for $19.99 including the following features.

  • High quality 3D model, with realistic textures.
  • Professionally created & pilot tested flight dynamics that are realistic to the aircraft.
  • A period-accurate sound set curated to fully immerse both beginner & veteran flight simmers
  • Custom animated pilot models to match each of the 13 distinct aircraft liveries.
