A batch of Halo MCC 20th Anniversary cosmetics has been revealed for Halo: The Master Chief Collection, giving players a bunch of new goodies to celebrate the franchise's 20th anniversary.

Halo: The Master Chief Collection is a wonderful bundle of a bunch of Halo games that players can pick up at an absurdly good price. It's been out for some time now, but that hasn't stopped 343 from adding new content such as with the launches of Halo 3: ODST and Halo 4 on PC last year, supplemented with the recent addition of modding support for Halo 2 and Halo 3. Now, a cool new batch of cosmetic content is on the way to celebrate the franchise's 20th anniversary.

What Are the Halo MCC 20th Anniversary Cosmetics?

The Halo MCC 20th Anniversary cosmetics include a wide range of content according to today's announcement along with some silly additions that 343 apparently couldn't resist putting in the game.

Here are the upcoming Halo MCC 20th Anniversary cosmetics you can look forward to (and when they launch):

  • November 3, 2021: “Orion” Armor Set (Helmet, Chest, Shoulders, Arms, Legs) for Halo 2: Anniversary
  • November 10, 2021: The Beast Back Accessory and Duke Shoulders for Halo 3
  • November 17, 2021: OG Xbox Assault Rifle Skin for Halo 3
  • November 24, 2021: Semi-Powered Infiltration “Mirage” Armor (Helmet, Chest, Shoulders, Arms, Legs) for Halo 3
  • December 1, 2021: OG Xbox Battle Rifle Skin and Rucksack Back Accessory for Halo 3
  • December 8, 2021: Hydration Container Utility Item for Halo: Reach
  • December 15, 2021: Fronkbox Back Accessory, Duke Shoulders, and OG Xbox Sniper Rifle skin for Halo 3
  • December 22, 2021: Grunt Plush and X-Pack Back Accessories and the OG Xbox Magnum Skin for Halo 3
  • December 29, 2021: OG Xbox Shotgun and SPNKr Skin for Halo 3
  • January 5, 2022: The first return of the “Orion” armor set for Halo 2: Anniversary

Much of the content is based on pre-release Halo reveals or lore. That said, the devs have also added some pretty silly stuff including a gigantic Xbox "Duke" controller to wear on your back.

Also arriving with this update is a bunch of new nameplates, four of which were revealed by the devs. One of these nameplates also contains a bit of silliness -- you'll soon be able to adorn your profile with the terrifying visage of Clippy, the anthropomorphic paper clip that terrorized assisted users of Microsoft Office for years.

You can get the first piece of this anniversary content starting today with more to come over the next couple of months. If you haven't yet jumped into these classic shooters, you can buy Halo: The Master Chief Collection for PC and Xbox via its official website starting at $39.99 or your regional equivalent. If Halo's not your thing, why not drop some dollars on a sick new Xbox 20th Anniversary controller or this slick pair of Xbox 360 inspired sneakers from Adidas?
