Developer 343 Industries and publisher Xbox Game Studios have announced that the Halo 3: ODST PC release date will be September 22, 2020.
Players will see what occurs prior to Halo 3 through the perspective of the Oribital Drop Shock Troopers (ODST) as they try to discover why the Covenant has invaded New Mombasa. Players will not be in the mighty Master Chief in this conflict, but rather a less tanky individual who must utilize both "stealth and precision to survive the dangers of the Covenant".
Just like the rest of the titles contained within Halo: The Master Chief Collection, players will be able to play this title in 4K and at 60+ FPS, although the system requirements are higher than an Xbox 360 to achieve such a feat once the Halo ODST PC release date is hit.
The rest of the game contains, well, Halo 3: ODST. There's the 11-mission campaign, the Firefight mode with 4-player co-op, online matchmaking, and new custom game modes on 10 legacy maps. There's also the Theater to capture and share different Halo moments with the community, so be ready for some epic maymays captured and shared on your favorite social media platform.
As a side note, what's also pretty cool is that Halo 3: ODST released 11 years ago... on September 22, 2009. A nice little homage to the original release, wouldn't you agree?
Halo 3: ODST PC release date (also on Xbox GamePass for PC) is set for September 22, 2020.
