343 Industries has detailed what's coming in next week's major Halo Infinite update, and if you've ever been frustrated by other players blatantly cheating, this one's for you.

In a new update preview on the official Halo Waypoint website, 343 says this update is targeting "some of the biggest requests from the community".

First up, a major networking overhaul is parachuting into Halo Infinite. 343 says that although various updates to the game's networking have been released since launch, they "were not having the impact that players expected and deserved", hence this rework, which debuted in the Firefight: King of the Hill mode.

The Halo Infinite March update will bring all sorts of improvements.

The next major addition in Halo Infinite's March update is the introduction of Easy Anti-Cheat technology, which also came to Rare's pirate adventure Sea of Thieves this month.

This tech should hopefully make it easier for Halo Infinite to detect and punish cheaters, but 343 Industries says you should still use the in-game reporting function or the official Halo Waypoint reporting portal if you spot cheating.

Halo Infinite's Squad Battle mode is also getting a seven-map refresh in the upcoming update, bringing several maps "made by incredibly talented Forgers", some of which you may recognize from previous Halo titles.

Naturally, the update will also come with a plethora of weapon balance changes, bug fixes, and general gameplay improvements, so be sure to keep an eye on the Halo Waypoint website for the official patch notes as and when they arrive.

If you're unfamiliar with Halo Infinite, it's the latest in Xbox's Halo series, which began life as a Bungie franchise before changing hands to 343 Industries in 2012.

Back in January, 343 announced that Halo Infinite would move away from the seasonal model in favor of Operations, in-game events offering several tiers of rewards to unlock.

You can check out Halo Infinite right now on PC and Xbox, and the game's next update arrives on March 19th. Make sure to take a look at our very own Andrew Stretch's review of the game if you'd like to know whether it's worth a punt.
