Modding is a proud tradition that goes a long way back in video games, and with Steam Workshop that tradition is continued with mods such as Return to Rapture Chapter Two, the second mod that Patient 8 Games has created for Half-Life: Alyx. For those not in the know, (which makes sense, because I didn't know there were Half-Life: Alyx mods of this scale until a few minutes ago) then here's a brief primer from the Return to Rapture page:
The Combine have discovered the whereabouts of Rapture.
Rumors exist that the suitcase of Andrew Ryan has yet to be found. Within it are the secrets to ADAM and the plasmids.
The quest for this artefact is not archeology, it's a race against evil. If it is captured by the Combine the armies of darkness will march all over the face of the earth.
Not too much to go on, but enough to start from, eh? Well, Return to Rapture has 8 levels set in the Bioshock universe while Return To Rapture Chapter Two has 24 levels and a purported 15 hours of gameplay, which is a nice improvement for those who played the first Chapter and wanted more. If you have Oculus/Meta hardware, you'll have to lower the texture resolution in the main menu to medium or lower due to reported problems. If you still have problems, then set the ASW (Asynchronous Space Warp) to 30 HZ, along with Super Sampling to 1.0 through the Oculus tray tool.
Return To Rapture Chapter Two still features Alyx, but this time she has to contend with both Combine commander Seamus and the Splicers, along with the Little Sisters and a Big Daddy if you're unlucky enough.
