Today, after the awards ceremony of the Arc World Tour 2023, Arc System Works teased the next playable DLC character and further incoming content.
Director Akira Katano and producer Ken Miyauchi walked on stage to present a brief trailer that announced that the next season (Season 4) is already in development.
We also hear that the next character is coming in May 2024, and we get a pretty clear hint of his identity.
In the image above, you can see the silhouette of bats and a man with spiky hair. That's most definitely Slayer.
He will be the fourth and last character of Season 3 following Johnny, Elphelt Valentine, and the recently revealed A.B.A. who was showcased at the beginning of the tournament.
You can check out the trailer for yourself in the recording of the tournament's livestream, albeit it really doesn't show much more than the two images above.
At the moment, besides the return of Slayer, who is a veteran entry in the Guilty Gear series, we have not received any further specific information about season 4. We don't know when it'll start or how many characters it will include.
Incidentally, the tournament itself was won by Verix from Senegal, who made history by triumphing against Slash from Saudi Arabia in the Grand Finals.
Guilty Gear -Strive- was initially launched for PS5, PS4, and PC, and Arc System Works then ported it to Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One, including Xbox Game Pass. If you'd like to learn more about the game, you can read our review from when it was released, keeping in mind that quite a bit has changed since then.
Earlier today, we also received news about Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising, which is also developed by Arc System Works. Specifically, we got the release date and the first gameplay of the upcoming DLC character Vane.
