Today, before the grand finals of the Guilty Gear -Strive- tournament, Arc System Works revealed a new character and a new update.
We learn that a major update that will come on August 24 including new special moves for six of the characters in the initial roster, with more characters getting theirs with future updates.
All characters will also get a new offensive mechanic and a new defensive mechanic. The former is named "Wild Assault" and it's a lounging attack to the front. It's performed with a quarter circle forward and D and requires 50% burst gauge.
The latter is named "Deflect Shield" and is executed in the same way but with a quarter circle backward. It can block every attack including overhead, lows, and projectiles.
On top of that, a returning character was inevitably announced, and it's Johnny. He will mark the beginning of Season 3 on the same date as the update.
The Season 3 Pass will also include two new stages, colors #7 to #12 for its characters, pls extra colors #13 to #15.
The second character of the season will come within 2023, while fans will have to wait for 2024 to get the third and the fourth.

Guilty Gear -Strive- was originally released for PS5, PS4, and PC, and Arc System Works recently launched Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One, including a release on Xbox Game Pass.
