Today Cygames hosted the Granblue Fantasy 10th Anniversary livestream and shared news about its fighting game Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising.
First of all, we get to see a trailer providing the first look at the upcoming new DLC characters Vane and Beatrix.
Vane will be released soon, in early April 2024, while Beatrix will be released in Late May.
Both Vane and Beatrix are beloved characters within the Granblue Fantasy franchise, and you can find more about them in the slides below.
Yet, that's not all we get to see today, as the developer also announced the Lady Serenity skin for Katalina.
It will be made available on March 12 as a DLC costume and you can also purchase it in-game in the Rupie Shop. You can check it out in action in a trailer showcased during the livestream.
We also learn that the game is continuing its Esport trajectory. It'll be featured at the Arc Tour World Finals on March 23 and will be a main game at EVO Japan between April 27 and April 29.
I'd be surprised if we did not get to see new gameplay for Vane and Beatrix then, and possibly a look at what'll come beyond. We already know that the first Season Pass (which just delivered 2B from NieR: Automata as a guest DLC character) will include two more unannounced characters in August and October.
Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising is currently available for PS5, PS4, and PC following its release in December 2023. It's an enhanced version of the original Granblue Fantasy Versus featuring a gameplay overhaul and four new characters, Grimnir, Nier, Siegfried, and Anila.
Incidentally, during the same event, we also got some juicy news about the JRPG Granblue Fantasy Relink including a new character announcement and the roadmap for updates until May 2024.
