Today Cygames hosted the Granblue Fantasy 10th Anniversary livestream and had exciting news to share about its successful JRPG Granblue Fantasy Relink.
First of all, we get a release date for the next major update, version 1.1.0, which will come very soon, on March 14, 2024.
It'll include the previously revealed "The Final Vision" quest, which will pitch players against Lucilius. Today we learn that Sandalphon will be the one giving us the quest and will join as a guest character. You can watch a trailer in the on-demand recording of the livestream.
As you can see in the trailer, the final battle of the quest is supposed to be extremely challenging. The update will also include more new content and adjustments, and paid DLC will come at the same time.
The paid DLCs include the Let's Chat emote set priced at $1.99. It comes with the following.
- Rock Paper Scissors Emote
- Shadowbox Emote
- Inspire Emote
The Self-Improvement Pack 1 for $2.99 includes a bunch of consumables.
- Stronghold V Sigil
- Gold Spellbookx 10

More consumables come in the Weapon Uncap Items Pack 1 for $2.99.

Yet, the big news we get today is that there is actually one more free new character coming to the game who wasn't announced before, and it's Sandalphon. He'll actually join the playable roster with update 1.3.0 in May 2024.
Sandalphon is one of the most beloved characters by fans of the game, so I'm sure this will please many. Like all characters so far, he will be free. The only caveat is that you need to complete content in the game to unlock him, alternatively, you can unlock him immediately via a purchase.
Moving on to update 1.2.0 coming in April 2024, we already know that we're getting Seofon and Tweyen, and they're unlocked in the same way as Sandalphon, via content in-game, or you can pay to get them instantly.
There will be more free content and more paid DLC, albeit these have not been announced just yet. You can see the two characters in action in the recording of the livestream with their own trailers.
Incidentally, update 1.3.0 which will include Sandalphon also will have additional free content and its own unannounced range of DLC.

Interestingly, on April 25, 2024, there will be another livestream providing more announcements. It'll be interesting to see whether the success of the game convinced Cygames to prolong its update support beyond what was initially planned.
