Arc System Works and Cygames have released a new Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising Grimnir gameplay trailer.
Grimnir, who was unveiled for the game back in August, will be Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising's fourth new playable character. He's a flamboyant lancer with an elegant combat style.
Over the course of the trailer, we get to see Grimnir's ground and aerial moves, as well as his ranged options, throws, and combos.
At the conclusion of the trailer, a suitably spectacular special animation plays out in which Grimnir tosses a rose to his enemy, with the rose then slamming them down to earth.
Grimnir subsequently grabs a single petal of the rose and grins at the camera. He might look like a harmless romantic, but there's real venom in that lance tip, it seems.
Grimnir is just the latest playable character to be revealed for Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising's roster.
In recent months, we've also had reveals for Ferry and Nier, as well as Siegfried, Anila, and Lancelot. The game is set for a November release, so we'll likely get more character reveals between now and then.
If you're unfamiliar with Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising, it's the upcoming sequel-come-re-release of fighter Granblue Fantasy: Versus.
It'll offer similar 2D anime fighting action to its predecessor, but will boast a number of improvements, including cross-platform play, rollback netcode, and an expanded roster.
The game will also feature a system wherein the attack properties of both the simple and complex control styles are identical, which has proven somewhat controversial among Granblue Fantasy: Versus' player base.
It makes sense that Arc System Works and Cygames are working on a followup to Granblue Fantasy: Versus, though, considering that game crossed a million sales worldwide in early August.
Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising launches for PlayStation consoles and PC on November 30th.
