During a stage event at Granblue Fantasy Fest 2022-2023, which is being hosted at the Tokyo Big Sight venue in Japan, Cygames announced Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising.
The game is a relaunch of the fighting game Grablue Fantasy: Versus for PS5, PS4, and PC via Steam featuring rollback netcode and cross-play among platforms. It'll release in worldwide 2023.

Granblue Fantasy Versus; Rising will include new mechanics like Ultimate Skills, an even more powerful version of Plus Skills.
We're also getting new characters and stages. Below you can see a stage that will likely prove familiar to Granblue Fantasy players, providing a pretty clear hint about the identity of one of the new characters.
Rising will also include new story content including a simplified version of Versus' RPG Mode packed in a brand-new Story Mode including all the previous chapters. It's worth mentioning that by "simplified" the developers mean that it has been made less repetitive, not that it has less content. Save data will also be transferable from the previous game. On top of that, an original story involving the new characters will be implemented.
Graphics will be enhanced with improved shaders and post-processing effects.
The new "Island" online lobby will be added with the addition of the "Grand Bruise Legends" feature that lets you enjoy a variety of multiplayer party games including Rising Royale and Gold Brick Hoarder.
This follows a long hiatus during which Cygames has continued to update the original Granblue Fantasy: Versus, but has not released any new characters following the launch of Vira and Avatar Belial in December 2021. That being said, the community received a boost due to the game's appearance among the featured titles at EVO 2022, where it helped carried the flag of anime-style fighting games. Hopefully, the launch of Rising will give Versus the chance it deserves after its popularity has been severely impacted by the pandemic, especially in the competitive scene.
