Granblue Fantasy Relink

Following many years in development, Cygames has released another trailer for its highly-anticipated action-JRPG Granblue Fantasy: Relink

The reveal was just made on stage at Granblue Fantasy Fest 2022-2023, which is being hosted at the Tokyo Big Sight venue in Japan.

We get to see a trailer showcasing both cutscenes and spectacular gameplay including a look at a new antagonist. Together with the trailer, we get bad news and good news.

The bad news is that the developers did not make it in time to finalize a release date for this event, while the good news is that the release window is confirmed for 2023, which means that we're not getting another delay. Director Tetsuya Fukuhara mentioned at the end of the event that development is absolutely in its final phase after apologizing for not being able to announce the release date just yet.

Below you can check out the trailer with English voiceovers. You can find the version with Japanese voices here.

We learn that the new antagonist is named Id, voiced by Kenjiro Tsuda and Robbie Daymond respectively in Japanese and English. On top of that, we also learn that the ultra-popular heroine Narmaya will be playable.

Id certainly looks rather badass.

If you're unfamiliar with Granblue Fantasy: Relink, it's Cygames' big debut into the AAA JRPG market for home platforms, following the successes of the Granblue Fantasy mobile game. It has also been delayed several times.

It involves both single-player and co-op gameplay involving up to four players, on top of a rich world created with the full development might of Cygames' studio in Osaka. The studio has been building up over the past few years to develop cutting-edge console games.

If you want to see more about the game, you can also check out brand-new and spectacular gameplay and the reveal of two assist modes on top of a recent gallery of screenshots
