Granblue Fantasy Relink 3

Today, Cygames revealed brand new gameplay of the upcoming action JRPG Granblue Fantasy: Relink

The gameplay showcases several of the playable characters in action, including, Charlotta, Yodarha (who weren't shown before), and Narmaya, who has been revealed as playable earlier today alongside a brand-new trailer

You can watch it below.

We also get the reveal of "Assist Mode" which is designed for beginners and casual gamers who want to focus on enjoying the story. It lets you perform combos automatically with a single button, automatically heal, guard, dash, unleash Skybound Arts, skills, and Link Attacks when conditions are met. On top of that, you also get assisted map navigation.

Yet, that is not all, the developers also announced "Full Assist Mode," which is an even more extreme mode focusing on accessibility. All actions are performed automatically and all you need to do is to move the stick to control the character's position. We also get to see this mode in another video showing Charlotta in action.

The presence of this mode isn't surprising considering that Granblue Fantasy: Relink is based on a mobile IP, and the mobile game has a fully automated mode. This will let players used to mobile JRPGs play in a way that feels natural to them.

Granblue Fantasy: Relink is coming in 2023 for PS5, PS4, and PC. A specific release date has not been announced just yet, albeit the developers promised that the game is absolutely in the final phase of development.

If you're unfamiliar with Relink, it's Cygames' big debut into the AAA JRPG market for home platforms, following the successes of the Granblue Fantasy mobile game. It has been announced with the title Granblue Fantasy –  Project Re:Link all the way back in 2016 and several reveals have been made since, including the streamlining of the title. It has also been delayed several times.

It comes with both single-player and co-op gameplay involving up to four players, on top of a rich world created with the full development might of Cygames' studio in Osaka. The studio has been building up over the past few years to develop cutting-edge console games.

If you want to see more about the game, you can also check out a recent gallery of screenshots. If you're interested in fighting games, today we also got the reveal of Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising for PS5, PS4, and PC.
