Genshin Impact developer HoYoverse is exerting all of its promotional power to celebrate the Lunar New Year, which isn't surprising, considering that it's a Chinese studio.
Following the trailer released yesterday, which was created in-engine, alongside a rather moving story teaser, today we return to the Landern Rite event, but with a full-fledged anime-style trailer.
The trailer features most (if not all, I've kind of lost count) of the playable characters of the game as they enjoy the festival, and it's actually really good. I'm fairly sure that seeing the Archons drinking together will make many Genshin Impact fans smile.
You can watch it below and see if I'm right.
If you're unfamiliar with Genshin Impact, it's currently available for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, iOS, and Android. A Nintendo Switch version has been announced a long time ago, but HoYoverse has gone under the radar with it and has not said anything since despite confirming multiple times that it hasn't been canceled. We'll have to wait and see if 2023 will finally be the year of Genshin on Nintendo's console.
We're currently on update 3.4, but we already know the characters coming with update 3.5, which should be released around February 28. This slightly longer waiting time for the next version shouldn't be surprising, as the Chinese New Year celebrations are usually quite disruptive on work schedules in the country, from manufacturing to game development.
