The launch week of Final Fantasy XVI has officially begun in Japan, and Square Enix has revealed beautiful artwork portraying battles among Eikons.
The artwork, which has been shared via press release, includes battles between Phoenix and Ifrit, Bahamut and Odin, Ifrit and Titan, Ifrit and Garuda, Ramuh and Typhon, and Shivan and Titan. They will be displayed starting today in various locations in Japan.
Specifically, you'll be able to see the artwork on giant screens in Shibuya Station in Tokyo and Umeda Station in Osaka starting today until June 25. Those visiting Fukuoka will have to wait until June 21 for the appearance of the art at Tenjin Station. It'll be up a little longer, until June 27.

On top of that, the Shinjuku Alta 3D screen in Tokyo will display a battle between Ifrit and Titan between June 19 and July 2. For now, we get to see only a picture, but I'd be surprised if videos didn't start to circulate later today when the ad debuts.
Final Fantasy XVI will release for PS5 on June 22 at 00:00 local time in all regions. A PC version has also been confirmed by Yoshida-san himself, but Square Enix will need time to optimize the game for the platform, so we don't know when it'll launch. Recently we learned that PlatinumGames and the Kingdom Hearts team at Square Enix helped out with development, albeit the specific parts of the game they worked on will remain a mystery until after its launch. We also saw the release of a lovely trailer focused on the theme song by Kenshi Yonezu.
A demo for PS5 is already available on the PlayStation Store and is playable right now, including the beginning of the game and more. We also know that a day-one patch is coming, and improvements in further updates have already been promised.
