The multiplayer-centric DLC for Final Fantasy XV will officially launch next month, featuring a few familiar faces from the main game.
The Final Fantasy XV multiplayer DLC dubbed Comrades will be available on October 31, 2017, for PS4 and Xbox One. There are also additional single-player quests in this expansion, although you will need to be online to access it.
In the Final Fantasy XV multiplayer DLC, players will take the role of a survivor from Kingsglaive to investigate Noctis’ disappearance. Based on the Tokyo Game Show 2017 trailer, it seems that the expansion is set a few months or years after the royal prince disappears, as a few returning characters such as Cid, Talcott, Iris, and the photographer haven’t aged that much. You’ll also hear famed composer Nobuo Uematsu’s new soundtrack Choosing Hope sung by Emiko Suzuki in the trailer.
Below is a short description for Comrades:
As members of Kingsglaive, players equip royal sigils that grant special powers from the Lucian bloodline. Players can then strategize and create a balanced team to take on a variety of quests. In addition to multiplayer quests, single player quests are also available for players to enhance their characters.
The Final Fantasy XV multiplayer expansion is one of the four paid expansions included in the season pass. The first two story-focused expansion, Episode Gladiolus and Episode Prompto, are already available for download. Meanwhile, the last story-focused expansion Episode Ignis will launch sometime in December.
In addition to the free content additions since the game launched, Square Enix has expressed interest in providing more paid DLCs for Final Fantasy XV. Nonetheless, most of the team's promises, such as the off-road Regalia and the Bestiary, are now available the game.
