Today, during the initial keynote of the Final Fantasy XIV Fan Festival in London, which TechRaptor attended in person, Square Enix announced a collaboration with Final Fantasy XVI.

Apparently, Final Fantasy XIV producer and director Naoki Yoshida managed to find the time to talk to Final Fantasy XVI producer Naoki Yoshida (yes, it's a running joke) to get things set up.

The collaboration, which will come within the 6.5X cycle of updates, will see FFXVI protagonist Clive Rosfield arrive in Eorzea and join the Warriors of Light in a questline titled "The Path Infernal."

Perhaps even more exciting is the fact that the rewards for the event will include two adorable versions of Clive's canine companion Torgal, a mount and a minion.

On top of that, we also see an outfit reproducing Clive's armor. You can watch the trailer below. A specific release date has not been announced just yet.

Speaking of release dates, we get one for the previously announced Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout collaboration, which will bring a dedicated mode to the Gold Saucer.

It's coming on October 31 as part of patch 6.51.

The content is designed for alliances of 24 players with random party matching. It won't always be open, and there will be periods in which the crossover content won't be available.

If you're not familiar with Final Fantasy XIV, it's currently available for PS5, PS4, PC (via Steam and dedicated client), and Mac, while an Xbox Series X|S version will enter an open beta in January.

Next summer, the game will see the launch of the brand-new expansion titled Dawntrailwhich will come with a ton of new content, two new jobs, a higher level cap, and much more.

A lot of new details were shared during the keynote today, and you can read all about them in our dedicated article, alongside another showcasing the upcoming and rather impressive graphical upgrade.
