The Final Fantasy XIV Patch 6.2 release date has been revealed. You can expect to tackle new content like the Pandaemonium: Abyssos raid and the Fell Court of Troia dungeon when the patch lands in less than two weeks, so dust off that subscription and get ready to dive back into the world of Eorzea.

When is the Final Fantasy XIV Patch 6.2 release date?

As announced during today's Final Fantasy XIV Live Letter presentation, the Final Fantasy XIV Patch 6.2 release date is August 23rd. That gives you a little under two weeks to resub and get back into your rotation (or to carry on honing your skills if you never dropped your subscription, of course). There's lots of exciting new content coming to Final Fantasy XIV in Patch 6.2, including new raid bosses, a new dungeon, and the continuation of the post-Endwalker main story quest, so you've got lots to look forward to. You can check out the Patch 6.2 overview trailer, which shows off some of the game's upcoming content, right here. Spot the retro Final Fantasy boss theme!

The trailer gives a first look at the upcoming Fell Court of Troia dungeon, as well as some of its boss encounters. The dungeon looks to be themed after Final Fantasy IV, continuing Endwalker's many FFIV references and nods. We also got a first look at Pandaemonium: Abyssos, the continuation of Patch 6.1's Pandaemonium: Labyrinthos raid. Expect four difficult boss encounters, including what looks like a jacked Carbuncle, with some pretty sweet loot as a reward. As well as the dungeon and the raid, we're also getting more Tataru's Grand Endeavor and more Somehow Further Hildibrand Adventures, which will pick up where Patch 6.15 left off and will be coming to the game later down the line as part of the Patch 6.2 cycle.

What else did we learn about Final Fantasy XIV Patch 6.2 today?

If you're a fan of PvP, you'll want to pay attention to Patch 6.2, as some changes are coming. Action adjustments will be made to ensure a more balanced PvP experience, and Hidden Gorge is also making a return. Patch 6.2 will also herald the end of Crystalline Conflict's second season, alongside PvP Series 1, so make sure you get as much of that in as you can before maintenance for the patch begins. It's safe to say Final Fantasy XIV doesn't quite have the PvP following other MMOs might, but it's still got its fans.

Goofy detective Hildibrand will make a return in Final Fantasy XIV Patch 6.2, but not immediately on release.

As well as all this, Square Enix also gave us a first look at the Island Sanctuary feature in today's Final Fantasy XIV Live Letter. In this chilled-out gameplay mode, you'll cultivate your very own island; it's effectively Animal Crossing meets Final Fantasy XIV. You can let your minions roam across your island, and you'll be able to cultivate it while you're waiting for a Duty. The island is essentially in its own little world, so there's no story, although there will be some quests to unlock content and take you through the basics of growing crops and maintaining your sanctuary. What's more, the island itself looks absolutely huge, so there should be plenty there to keep you occupied. With all this plus new Omicron tribal quests in Ultima Thule (coming in 6.25), Final Fantasy XIV Patch 6.2 should tempt back plenty of lapsed subscribers. You'll be able to check it out from August 23rd.
