Today, during a panel at New York Comic Con, Square Enix announced the English voice actor for Vincent Valentine in Final Fantasy VII Rebirth.
Popular actor Matt Mercer will lend his voice to the enigmatic character, a reveal which will certainly please his many fans.
If you're unfamiliar with Matt Mercer, he previously played Cor Leonis in Final Fantasy XV, Ganondorf in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, Minsc in Baldur's Gate III, Yusuke Kitagawa in the Persona 5 series, Goro Majima in Yakuza: Like a Dragon, and a ton of other roles in many games and anime.
He's also well-known as the dungeon master in the popular Critical Role D&D web series, which you're surely familiar with if you follow TechRaptor.
In previous games and media, the role was played by Steve Blum.
Final Fantasy VII Rebirth will finally be released for PS5 on February 29, 2024. We already know that the exclusivity window officially ends three months after launch, so it's very likely that the game will launch on other platforms after that, albeit it's not very likely that ports will arrive as soon as the contractual obligations end.

Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is the sequel of Final Fantasy VII Remake, which debuted in 2020 for PS4 and was then relaunched as Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade for PS5 and PC in 2021, earning both critical and fan acclaim.
Together, they are part of a trilogy set to bring back the glory of the original Final Fantasy VII on modern platforms, with some twists.
