Today Square Enix released an extensive documentary series in four parts celebrating the success of its new JRPG Final Fantasy VII Rebirth

The series is a deep dive into the creation of the game, touching on a wide variety of topics.

We hear about world design, art, music, storytelling, cutscenes, character design, combat design, localization, and voice acting.

It appears that, at least for now, the 4th episode about the voiceovers is available only in English, and an equivalent about the Japanese voice acting has not been released at the moment of this writing.

Besides that, the four episodes provide a very interesting perspective on the creation of such a successful game, which has been received very well by both veteran fans and newcomers.

Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is currently available only for PS5. If you haven't already, you can still pre-order a physical copy on Amazon. For the moment, no announcement has been made about a possible release for PC, albeit many expect it, as it happened with Final Fantasy VII Remake. 

Square Enix just released update 1.020,  which included several improvements to gameplay and visuals.
