Today Koei Tecmo released a gameplay trailer of the upcoming action JRPG Fate/Samurai Remnant.

The trailer focuses on combat, showing both the hero Minamoto Iori and his servant Saber in action.

Not only do we get to see how the two can collaborate by executing a variety of moves, but also how Minamoto Iori can switch between a single sword stance and the famous Niten Ichi-ryu two-sword style taught by Miyamoto Musashi.

You can watch the trailer below.

Fate/Samurai Remnant will launch on September 28, 2023, for PS5, PS4, PC, and Nintendo Switch in Japan, while Western Fate fans will have to wait until September 29. Pre-orders are already available on all platforms.

You can read our preview, in which our Austin Suther defined the game as "highly ambitious," adding that it "has thus far delivered on providing both engaging gameplay systems and an exciting story."

If you'd like to see more of the game, you can enjoy another trailer that recently introduced the story and some of the characters, another trailer and gallery of screenshots, and another set of images and details, on top of the opening cutscene

If the Fate series doesn't ring a bell for you, it originally debuted in Japan in 2004 with an adult-oriented visual novel named Fate/stay night.

The franchise then followed the route of many popular Japanese series which debuted as eroge, leaving behind its adult nature (while keeping a rather sizable level of fanservice), widening its target, and becoming massive multimedia IP including anime, manga, and more.

This popularity culminated with the mobile game Fate/Grand Order, which is one of the most-played mobile games in the world.
