Techland has revealed a little bit of what we can expect from the upcoming Dying Light 2 Chapter 2. You'll be assisting an expert tracker with a "very special task" when the Chapter update drops in the next couple of weeks alongside patch 1.5.
What's coming in Dying Light 2 Chapter 2?
After Dying Light 2 got its first Chapter update back in June, bringing new challenges, enemies, and other goodies to the game, developer Techland has detailed some of the things coming to Dying Light 2 in Chapter 2. The update will launch sometime in the next couple of weeks alongside patch 1.5 and will focus on Shen Xiu, also known as "The Huntress". Given that the chapter's official name is "The Huntress and the Hag", it's safe to say Shen Xiu will be tracking some kind of dangerous undead, and you'll have to help her. The chapter will bring new missions, bounties, gear, and enemies, plus lots more.
We don't know too much about what Shen Xiu will task you with doing just yet, but Techland has promised to reveal more in the coming weeks regarding her mission and your place in it. The developer has revealed that Shen Xiu will have a "very special task" for players to complete, and in a recent At The Fish-Eye dev diary for the game, Techland also revealed that players may have already "interacted with" some of Shen Xiu's equipment before and might "know her". Exciting times. We'll have to wait for more, but this should give you ample reason to head back to the City and crush some undead skulls.
What is Dying Light 2?
Dying Light 2 is, as you might expect, the follow-up to 2015's zombie parkour-'em-up Dying Light. Like its predecessor, Dying Light 2 is an open-world sandbox game with parkour platforming and traversal. This time around, you are Aiden Caldwell, a man who arrives in the City in order to decipher his memories and gets more than he bargained for when he gets there. As Aiden, you'll need to help the City's various inhabitants with their problems and get to the bottom of who you are and what your place in this world might be.
You can grab Dying Light 2 right now on PC and consoles. There is a Switch version of the game in the works, but we're not sure when it's due to arrive yet. If you've just picked the game up and you're wondering where to get started (it is a pretty monstrously big game, after all), then make sure you check out our Dying Light 2 beginner's guide, where you'll find lots of tips and tricks to help you make your way through the City. Once you've got your bearings, do have a glance at our multiplayer guide, too, so you can enjoy re-murdering scores of the undead alongside a buddy.
