Techland has released new information about the Dying Light 2 winter update, which is scheduled to arrive on December 19th.

In much the same vein as the summertime update, as well as crossover events like October's Vampire: The Masquerade teamup, the winter update will bring new content to the game, as well as gameplay improvements and more.

First up, Villedor will be festooned with new seasonal decorations, which should make your zombie-slaying efforts a little more festive.

Techland is giving away this bundle for free during the Winter Tales event.

These decorations are coming as part of the Winter Tales event, which will also add new Santa Airdrops to discover, as well as the terrifying-sounding "Uncle Snow", who you'll be able to fight for gifts.

Goals and challenges will also be added to the game, and meeting these goals will give you the chance to earn rewards like the Winter Elf outfit, as well as a Gingerbread Infected Charm.

Lots of festive items will be available to purchase too, including the Grim Santa Bundle, which gives you the chance to dress up as a rather intimidating version of Jolly Saint Nick himself. You'll also get the chance to receive the Hakon Bundle for free during the winter update period.

Of course, this being a Dying Light 2 update, you can still look forward to plenty of gameplay improvements, including the "long-awaited PS5 cross-gen save" feature.

According to the Dying Light 2 roadmap released earlier this year, this winter update will be the last one before the game's 2nd anniversary celebrations, which presumably begin in February next year.

Dying Light 2 is available right now on PC, PlayStation consoles, and Xbox platforms.

A Switch version of the game was also scheduled to arrive sometime after the original console and PC release, but at time of writing, this version has yet to materialize. Stay tuned for more.
