The Dying Light 2 Nintendo Switch release date has been delayed, pushing back the launch of the cloud version for Nintendo's console to sometime later in 2022.

Dying Light 2 is an upcoming, hotly-anticipated first-person shooter that will take players into a massive post-apocalyptic city in an adventure that can be played with up to three of your friends. Thus far, we've learned about its parkour system and the two different kinds of skill trees.

All in all, Dying Light 2 is shaping up to be a pretty solid experience for veteran fans of the franchise and new players alike. While the gameplay is looking pretty good, not everything is copacetic at Techland — the Nintendo Switch release date for the game has been delayed.

When is the Dying Light 2 Nintendo Switch Release Date?

The Dying Light 2 Nintendo Switch release date is now later in 2022 according to a press release from Techland. Unfortunately, a more specific release date has not yet been announced, but Techland thinks it should be out sometime within the next six months.

"Techland today announces that the [Nintendo Switch] version of Dying Light 2 Stay Human (Cloud Version), previously planned for release on February 4, 2022, has been moved to a later date," read a press release from the developer. "Techland aims to deliver the game to the Nintendo Switch family within six months from the original date."

It should be noted that this isn't quite a standard version of the game. Dying Light 2 will be a "Cloud Version," meaning that the game is streamed to your console over the Internet. Thus far, a handful of games (such as Remedy's Control) have released in this fashion on the Switch. Presumably, the Cloud version offers up some unique technical challenges that has resulted in a delay.

For now, Nintendo Switch gamers will have to wait to play Dying Light 2; hopefully, it will be out sooner rather than later. Everyone else can pre-order Dying Light 2 for PC and consoles starting at $59.99 or your regional equivalent.
