A new Chivalry 2 update is adding two brand new maps, as well as a new game mode, a fun camera feature, and lots and lots of new customization options. The update is live right now across PC and consoles.

What's in the new Chivalry 2 update?

First up, there are two new maps to enjoy in this Chivalry 2 update. The first is Galencourt (for which the update is named), a Team Objective map in which you must capture the walled fortifications and desecrate the sacred tomb of Feydrid. If you're more of a Team Deathmatch type, you'll probably enjoy Courtyard more; it's the setting of a duel gone wrong, and it can be played on the Team Deathmatch, Free-for-all, and Arena modes. To get a feel for what these two maps will offer, be sure to check out the Chivalry 2 Galencourt update trailer

Galencourt offers plenty of opportunities to ransack and pillage in the latest Chivalry 2 update.

The brand new Arena mode is also being added in this update. This is a smaller-scale mode focusing more on teamwork in which teams of three players apiece must be the first to win five rounds. Three maps will initially be available for the Arena mode: Tournament Grounds, Fighting Pits, and Courtyard, each of which will be scaled down to match the more local scope of the mode.

What gameplay changes are in this Chivalry 2 update?

As well as these new maps and the Arena mode, there are also a few smaller additions to look forward to. If you loved Chivalry: Medieval Warfare's Arrow Cam, you'll be delighted to hear that it's making a triumphant return. Now, you'll be able to see exactly where your arrows are flying when you shoot them. We're looking forward to the inevitable slew of "I didn't mean to hit that" montages.

Some of the new customization items in the new Chivalry 2 update
As well as the return of Arrow Cam, the new Chivalry 2 update will also feature more than 60 new customization items.

You'll also have the opportunity to make your warrior look even snazzier thanks to the addition of 60 brand new customization items. These include new weapon and armor aesthetics, as well as extra voiceover options. The devs say some of their favorites are Argon's Sword, the Golden Leaf Shield, and the Skull Crusher Mace, so be on the lookout for those. You can grab Chivalry 2 right now on PC, PlayStation consoles, and Xbox platforms. It'll set you back $39.99.
